Hey Nate, really nice site.
I also like riding my bike to all kinds of destinations. Just out of curiosity:
What bikes were u riding and in general are the midwest states a good "soil" for riding ? Would like to do a USA trip by bike some day and looking for appropriate territories.
Thankx and good luck

Nate: how did you run into your dad -- not once, but twice?!

Anyway, S & N, I felt for you with all those flat tires! Strange that it just kept happening, one after the other and not before or after.

Also, I liked the description "washboardy hill" - could picture it perfectly and as always, felt like a I was with you -- only I was a lot more comfortable!

Hi Guys:
I guess my first comment didn't get to you. We waited in Readsboro for a while after getting there a half hour late. We stopped to watch a train come out of the tunnel, so we knew that was an OK excuse for Sam. We did our 104 miles that day, but coming back up Florida Mtn, at mile 88 in the heat really sucked! Glad all is going well. - Tom

Hi. I don't know you, but I will be a freshman at Northwestern this fall. I'm not much of a biker, but I think what you are doing is really cool. I hope you have a lot of fun and very few flat tires.

School started and I ran out of time so I just (Sunday night) had a real nice time reading your first five installments. Lovin' it, thanks for sharing. I groaned out loud while reading about having to lift the trailer and bikes over the trees on the canal trail; and with all that I can hardly believe the progress you're making. Who's in charge of keeping track of the road kill? Sam, that is totally gruesome but funny. (Now that I think about it, is "alive" implied in the bunny count?)
